Biography

Garrett is an associate in the Tax practice.

Garrett advises clients on tax considerations arising with respect to a broad range of transactions, including the formation and structuring of private investment funds, cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and real estate transactions. Garrett also advises nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations to help them achieve their philanthropic objectives while complying with tax laws related to tax-exempt entities, such as the unrelated business income tax, related party transactions, compensation practices, and joint ventures.

Outside of the office, Garrett enjoys choral singing and learning about music. He has received a master’s degree in musicology from the Ohio State University and bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and percussion performance from Samford University.
