Matt Wilson Discusses Concert Ticket Pricing in AJC’s The Scene

Matt Wilson, chair of AGG’s Entertainment & Sports industry team, was quoted in a December 3, 2024, article for The Scene – a newsletter published by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution – discussing the inflation of concert ticket prices and junk fees that contribute to the increased cost.

“The increase is driven by a number of factors,” Matt shared, explaining that ticket price increases may be due to the decrease in physical album sales, the costs of running the tour, and simple price inflation.

Though, there may be reprieve in sight for concert goers as the Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule to ban hidden and misleading fees, which means companies would have to show the full price upfront.
