Brooke Dickerson and John Gornall Recognized Among Georgia Trend’s GEORGIA 500 – Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders
Atlanta, November 1, 2022 – Arnall Golden Gregory (AGG) is pleased to announce Georgia Trend magazine named AGG partners Brooke Dickerson and John Gornall among its inaugural “GEORGIA 500 – Georgia’ Most Influential Leaders” 2022 list in the professional services section. The comprehensive list honors local leaders around the state driving Georgia’s successful economy to new heights year after year.
Brooke, partner in the firm’s Construction and Environmental practices, has significant experience at the federal and state level advising clients on an array of environmental issues, including regulatory, permitting, transactional, compliance, litigation, and policy advocacy. In advising a client on the legal and practical implications of a proposed Atlanta Sustainability Ordinance, Brooke assisted in developing a successful strategy to lobby against adoption of the new law. By raising awareness about the inadequacies of the proposed law, it was rejected by the Atlanta City Council. Brooke also serves as chair of the State Bar of Georgia Environmental Law Section and a member of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership and Women’s Affordable Housing Network.
John, partner in the firm’s Corporate, Economic Development & Public Finance, and Alternative & Renewable Energy practices, has worked on projects for research and development, manufacturing, distribution, and other facilities across the U.S. that span more than 40 years. As a special assistant attorney general in 2006, John assisted with successful negotiations for the Kia automotive assembly plant, which is the only Kia manufacturing plant in the U.S. and the only automaker in Georgia. It employs about 3,000 people who produce 340,000 cars annually. John also helped draft Senate Bill 122, which was signed into law in 2011. SB 122 authorizes the state and local governments and authorities to enter into contracts for up to 50 years with private companies to build and operate water facilities. The bill helps Georgia increase its water supply, treat wastewater to higher standards, and encourage the use of reuse water while protecting Georgia’s environment.
