London Stock Exchange: What U.S. Private Companies and Investors Should Know

The British American Business Council of Georgia and AGG are excited to host the first U.S. presentation of the Private Intermittent Securities & Capital Exchange System (“PISCES”), the innovative intermittent trading venue from the London Stock Exchange Group, as well as a lively discussion of private and public market liquidity alternatives. The event will be held at AGG’s Atlanta office from 3-6:30 p.m.

There has been a marked increase in private company investors and employees seeking liquidity for their stock via private secondaries platforms. Consequently, the London Stock Exchange has developed a new trading platform that offers private companies access to periodic liquidity. PISCES will afford companies periodic access to public market liquidity infrastructure for their shareholders while remaining private, thus, developing a vibrant ecosystem and capital market that support growing companies across their lifecycle and funding journey. Accredited investors gain access to Venture Capital and Private Equity companies they may not have been able to otherwise.

In this event, Chris Mayo of London Stock Exchange will discuss the launch of PISCES later this year and how this new platform and London’s public markets are an important alternative for U.S. companies and their investors. AGG Corporate & Finance partner Brian Teras will also present on legal and structuring considerations for private market secondaries.

Then we will hear a panel discussion on how private and public market liquidity alternatives have evolved and the relative benefits and constraints of executing a private market transaction versus an IPO (or other exit transaction) to access liquidity. The panel will include Chris Mayo and AGG Technology and Corporate & Finance partner Paula Nagarajan. Joe Briner, managing director at Vertical Capital Advisors LLC, will serve as moderator.
