Jackie Cooney Appointment to AGG Data Privacy Co-Chair Highlighted in Law360

Law360 featured the addition of Jackie Cooney in AGG’s growing Washington, D.C. office to serve as partner and co-chair of the firm’s Data Privacy practice in an article published on July 11, 2023.

“I am thrilled to be the co-chair of the practice as one of my career goals has been to develop a practice that is focused on my own brand of practical, actionable client support,” Jackie told Law360. “My clients value the type of guidance and support I provide because it is grounded in a risk-based and business-minded approach to the law. The areas of privacy and cybersecurity law have become so complex over the years that clients often need step-by-step guidance regarding how to operationalize regulatory requirements while not impeding their business.”

Jackie’s new role as co-chair of the Data Privacy practice also highlights the firm’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion at all ranks. “We are likely among the few female and LGBTQ+-led Technology and Data Privacy teams, and that makes me proud to be part of AGG,” said Lori Brewer, partner and chair of AGG’s Technology practice.

“Women have been on the leading edge of privacy law for many years, so I have been in very good company as my career has developed surrounded by accomplished women, including here at AGG,” Jackie said. “As our practice expands into the areas of cybersecurity and technology, I think it’s important that we ensure women are involved in those additional and complementary areas of law, which have often been led by men.”
