AGG Names Gabe Scannapieco as Life Sciences Co-Chair, Bringing DOJ Experience to Team Leadership

Washington, D.C., June 30, 2025 – Gabriel H. Scannapieco, partner in Arnall Golden Gregory LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, has been named co-chair of the Life Sciences industry team serving alongside partner Alan G. Minsk. As a former assistant director at the U.S. Department of Justice Consumer Protection Branch, Gabe’s first-hand federal experience is critical to life sciences clients navigating regulatory changes amid the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s restructuring and the Department of Justice’s shifting enforcement priorities.

“Gabe’s unique experience in the DOJ’s Consumer Protection Branch, where he oversaw criminal and civil investigations and enforcement actions involving drugs, biologics, medical devices, foods, and nutritional supplements, gives our clients a distinct advantage,” Alan said. “In addition to being an excellent attorney, Gabe is a dedicated leader and teammate. Gabe succeeds Michael E. Burke, who continues his leadership as co-chair of the firm’s International practice and administrative partner of the D.C. office.

Gabe, who joined the Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Healthcare practices in December 2024, has extensive experience in complex civil and criminal litigation, particularly in healthcare, consumer protection, and white-collar defense. During his tenure at the DOJ, he oversaw record-setting resolutions in healthcare fraud and opioid enforcement.

In addition to enhancing the firm’s work for existing clients, Gabe will help lead team-driven client development and prioritize professional growth among attorneys to ensure the delivery of top-tier legal services.
